Cheap Gift Ideas

Bake goodies. I think this is one of the simplest and most special gifts a person can give. Make your loved one or special friend a batch of their favorite brownies or cookies. Bake your dad his favorite pie or cake. Your gift will be appreciated and devoured!

Make a gift box, bag, or basket. Buy an inexpensive gift box or bag and put a bunch of inexpensive but useful items inside. Alternatively, if you can buy a basket cheaply this will work as well.

Most cities have a Dollar Store or something similar. If you have access to one you can find several nice inexpensive things to place inside.

If your gift is for someone with a sweet tooth then, you are in luck. Candy is fairly inexpensive. Buy bags of various candies for your basket. Open them up and fill your box, bag, or basket. Attach a small note card or print one on your computer. Sometimes it helps to add something cute or cheesy like "Nothing is sweeter than you but this gift definitely has more calories!"

My favorite gift bag or basket is for the movie lover.  We tend to buy microwaveable popcorn for our movie nights so, I usually have that on hand.  You can place a few individual bags of butter flavored microwaveable popcorn in your bag, along with several oversized boxes of candy.  Most dollar stores tend to keep these in the candy aisle.  If you can remember and find their favorite movie treats then, the recipient of your gift will feel that much more special.  If you feel like splurging, you could attach a gift card for a free movie rental on the outside for the tag.
